About InterAction Advocacy
InterAction is the nation's leading advocate for international relief
and development programs. Our advocacy is determined by our member
organizations through the Public Policy Committee.
These issues include improving the effectiveness
of US assistance, increasing
the international assistance
budget, and shaping the Millennium
Challenge Account. InterAction also advocates on issues such
asAfghanistan, Iraq, or the HIV/AIDS pandemic when
a consensus is reached among our members.

The Public Policy Committee aims to educate policymakers,
the media and the public on international development, refugee and
relief programs and policies. The Committee works to coordinate the
efforts of member organizations to influence policy and budget priorities
in order to maximize effectiveness of advocacy and outreach to the
Congress and the Administration.
The Committee’s principle objective
is the realization of the objectives in InterAction’s Campaign:
The Global Partnership for Effective Assistance, but also includes
advocacy on other humanitarian and development issues.
The PPC is comprised of InterAction member organizations that are active in advocacy
and outreach efforts on international development and humanitarian issues. It
has two co-chairs, both of whom must be located in the Washington DC area. Co-chairs
serve two-year terms, are eligible for a total of two consecutive terms, and
are elected by the Committee.
