The Humanitarian and International Development Budget

The Global Partnership for Effective Assistance campaign urges policymakers to provide additional funding to seven existing accounts in the international affairs budget emphasizing programs that build self-sufficiency- through basic education, healthcare, job and business skills, reducing hunger, women and girls, refugee and disaster response, and peace and democracy. The graph below shows the budget levels for the past few years for the following accounts:

  • Child Survival and Health
  • Development Assistance
  • International Disaster Assistance
  • Transition Initiatives
  • Migration and Refugees
  • Emergency Refugee Assistance
  • International Organizations

The campaign is also working to ensure that the President, in partnership with the U.S. Congress, fulfills his promises to increase resources for the President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief and for the Millennium Challenge Account.
