The Commission promotes gender equity in the policy and practice
of InterAction members, national, and international development and

CAW’s
work is grounded in InterAction’s Gender
Equity Amendments to the PVO

With close to 100
member organizations represented, the Commission has a Program Advisory Group
(PAG) that meets twice a year to offer strategic and technical guidance
on the CAW’s work. Membership in the CAW is open to staff of
all InterAction member agencies. Members participate through an email
listserv, topical meetings, workshops, and working groups. It has
two co-chairs, of which at least one must be located in the Washington
DC area. Co-chairs serve two-year terms, are eligible for a total
of two consecutive terms, and are elected by the Commission. The
PAG includes 6-8 InterAction members with expertise in gender and
development, as well as a number of ex-officio expert advisors from
other organizations. The PAG members can serve two, consecutive two-year
terms.
