ISSUE
Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) is the systematic development and application of policies, strategies and practices that minimize vulnerabilities and disaster risks throughout a society. DRR activities help mitigate the adverse impacts of hazards and prepare communities for potential hazards, many of which will be exacerbated by climate change.

tools can be used to demonstrate the impact of disaster risk reduction
programs in practice. FEMA and the Nepal Red Cross offered powerpoint
presentations on their programs.
