Program Associate, Disaster Response
InterAction is seeking a full-time Program Associate to join InterAction’s
Humanitarian Policy and Practice Team (HPPT) in the Disaster Response
unit.
Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative and substantive support to complex emergency
and thematic working groups;
- Maintain HPPT web pages, manage email lists;
- Supervise interns;
- Provide information to InterAction members, US Government agencies,
UN agencies, other partners, and the public.
- Support to InterAction NGO member staff in a timely manner and with
a customer service attitude;
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree with two years experience in relevant field,
or a Master’s degree in relevant field;
- Previous experience or strong interest in international humanitarian
assistance and displacement issues;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Attention to detail, strong organizational and multi-tasking skills;
- Excellent computer skills (Windows);
- Desire to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment;
- Eligibility to work in the U.S.
Salary and Benefits: Salary in the low $30s with an

Program Manager, Disaster Response
InterAction is seeking a full-time Program Manager to join InterAction’s
Humanitarian Policy and Practice Team (HPPT) in the Disaster Response
unit.
Responsibilities:
- Provide support to InterAction NGO member staff in a timely manner
and with a customer service attitude
- Provide back-up support to complex emergency working groups including
Sudan, DRC, Uganda, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka and others as designated,
with a view to eventually taking on full responsibility for some of
these groups
- Provide back-up support to thematic working groups including civil
military relations, disaster risk reduction, staff care and others
as designated
- Assist Director of Disaster Response in liaison relationships with
OFDA, PRM, UN and other stakeholders as designated
- Work with Director of Disaster Response to ensure that humanitarian
issues are regularly highlighted in InterAction’s monthly publication
Monday Developments and on the InterAction website
- Represent InterAction in meetings and other fora as requested by
Director of Disaster Response and Vice President of Humanitarian Policy
and Practice
Qualifications:
- 5-7 years of experience implementing humanitarian assistance programs
in the field;
- Previous experience (preferably at the field level) in coordination
activities involving key stakeholders in humanitarian response (INGOs,
local NGOs, UN, donors, etc);
- Good knowledge of the UN system, particularly those agencies involved
in humanitarian response;
- Familiarity with current issues in the humanitarian sector including
complex emergency response, natural disaster response, security, civil
military relations, disaster risk reduction, and staff care;
- Meeting facilitation skills;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Attention to detail, strong organizational and multi-tasking skills;
- Excellent computer skills (Windows);
- Desire to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment;
- Eligibility to work in the U.S.

Manager, International Humanitarian Security Association
InterAction, the nation's leading coalition of 160+ American NGOs engaged in international development and humanitarian relief activities around the world, seeks an experienced, entrepreneurial International Humanitarian Security Association Manager.
The Security Association Manager (SAM), under the direction of the
Security Coordinator, will lead the process of creating, developing,
and managing an International Security Association for humanitarian
security professionals. The SAM will guide the new Association in:
creating a multi-tiered certification regime, establishing criteria
for training, offering human resources guidance, creating a code of
conduct, and providing independent post-incident investigations.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years experience working in an association.
- Bachelors degree required, Masters preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal
and communications skills required.
- Applicants must hold US citizenship
