Pathfinder International
Statement of Purpose Pathfinder International believes that reproductive health is a basic human right. When parents can choose the timing of pregnancies and the size of their families, women’s lives are improved and children grow up healthier. Pathfinder International provides women, men, and adolescents throughout the developing world with access to quality family planning information and services. Pathfinder works to halt the spread of HIV/AIDS, to provide care to women suffering from the complications of unsafe abortion, and to advocate for sound reproductive health policies in the U.S. and abroad.
Programs & Activities
Institutional and Human Resource Development and Management Assistance
Pathfinder assists institutions, through grants and technical assistance, to strengthen their ability to develop and deliver reproductive health services and to attract and manage staff and finances. Pathfinder-supported programs achieve success in large part by helping grantees meet and manage technical and management training needs.
Material Aid
Pathfinder provides some supplies, equipment, and training materials.
Population and Family Planning Services
Pathfinder promotes the establishment of safe and accessible family planning and reproductive health services through clinic-, hospital-, work-, and community-based service delivery programs. A special focus is improving adolescent access to reproductive health information and services.
Public Policy and Advocacy
Pathfinder brings U.S. policymakers and opinion leaders together with reproductive health professionals from abroad to explore the impact U.S. policies exert on programs in developing countries. Pathfinder works to link service delivery efforts in the field with public policy and advocacy efforts in the United States. |
