Presbyterian Disaster Assistance and Hunger Program
Statement of Purpose Presbyterian Disaster Assistance and Hunger Program are two organizationally specific programs existing as part of the Worldwide Ministries of the Presbyterian Church (USA) whose mission is: To empower the church, in each place, to share transforming power with all people through partnership and mutuality with the worldwide body of Christ. 
Programs & Activities
Presbyterian Disaster Assistance
Program activities include capacity building for disaster response, community-based relief and rehabilitation, psychosocial care in times of crisis, and refugee resettlement. Resources are extended through grants and volunteer assistance. Implementation is primarily through church partners, indigenously based ecumenical agencies, and the ACT (Action of Churches Together) network.
Presbyterian Hunger Program
Program activities include direct grant support for alleviating hunger and eliminating its causes. In addition, the program supports focused initiatives at inter-agency cooperation of church and non-church based NGO’s to form a comprehensive network for action against hunger. |
