MARCH 8: The Changing Role of Women in the Family, in the Workplace, and in the World Community
Hosted by:
Wagner Women's Caucus
International Women’s Day has been celebrated around the world since the early 1900’s. It is a day to reflect on the progress women have made toward equality worldwide, but it is also a day to recognize that women are not equal, especially worldwide. Women are still sufferers of domestic violence in their homes, women are still hitting the “glass ceiling” in the workplace, and women are still victims of human trafficking. Women can vote and hold high ranking positions, but are women equal? What stereotypes are women facing in their homes, at work and worldwide that prevent equality? How can we continue the advancement of the Women’s Movement to combat the pervasive issues women face in the 21st Century?
