Connolly Butterfield
Connolly Butterfield joined InterAction's Protection Team in September 2023.
Connolly is an expert in humanitarian assistance with more than a dozen years of field experience implementing emergency responses in conflict contexts. At InterAction, she is currently supporting the development of results-based methods of protection and facilitating updates of results-based methods among humanitarian actors globally. Connolly is supporting the implementation of InterAction’s Action-Based Research initiative on conflict-induced food insecurity and protection, facilitating collective action and documentation of best practices.
Prior to joining InterAction, Connolly worked with several international NGOs in a variety of contexts, most recently serving as the Protection Advisor for the Norwegian Refugee Council’s Middle East Regional Office. She has worked across the Middle East, as well as in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Somalia, South Sudan, and Afghanistan on issues of gender-based violence, child protection, protection case management, and protection monitoring, among others.
Connolly holds a M.A. in Security Policy Studies from the George Washington University and B.A. from Colgate University.
