Sudan War (2023-Present)

Sudan's civil war, which erupted in April 2023 between the Sudanese Armed Forces and Rapid Support Forces, has devastated the nation, causing thousands of deaths and forcing millions to flee their homes amid widespread violence and destruction.

Over half of Sudan's population urgently needs humanitarian aid, with eight million people forced from their homes in a crisis that threatens to destabilize the entire region. Despite these staggering numbers, the international response remains inadequate. InterAction and its partners advocate for increased humanitarian assistance, enforcement of international law, and meaningful inclusion of Sudanese voices in peace efforts.

Sudan's collapse could create a dangerous power vacuum in Northeast Africa, potentially becoming a haven for terrorist groups and accelerating refugee flows that could destabilize the region.
