InterAction Welcomes Noam Unger as New Vice President of Global Development Policy and Learning
WASHINGTON — On Friday, June 1, 2018, InterAction officially announced the selection of Noam Unger as the new vice president of global development policy and learning. Unger is the acting chief strategy officer at USAID and will join InterAction in July.
At InterAction, Unger will lead efforts to strengthen the voice and role of civil society in global policy debates, advocate for robust foreign assistance funding, confront discrimination and regulations limiting U.S. nonprofits, and continue work on open data and transparency.
Unger has a deep understanding of global development. His strong policy background includes time as the vice president for partnerships and external affairs for Global Citizen Year and as a global economy and development fellow at Brookings. Already very familiar with the InterAction community, Unger was a founding member and principal of the Modernizing Foreign Assistance Network (MFAN).
“It is with great pleasure I welcome Noam to InterAction. His experience in development policy and strategy, and extensive background at USAID and other development actors will provide a critical leadership perspective for InterAction. His familiarity with our members and partners will be an asset as we strengthen existing partnerships and explore new ways to impact the international development sector,” said InterAction CEO Sam Worthington.
