Our Website Was Stuck in the Early 2000’s, So We Broke It Down and Rebuilt It. Now Comes the Exciting Part.
Back in 2010, when we last redesigned our website, the first iPad made its big debut. Since then, more people are accessing the internet from their mobile devices than from desktop computers, and online campaigns to build resistance and take on long-standing injustices have become standard.
As the NGO community faces new challenges to continue to serve the world’s most vulnerable populations, there’s a need for a new website that, as our CEO Sam Worthington noted, is “built around amplifying the narrative and stories that our members have to share with the world.” These realities sparked the need for InterAction to re-imagine our web presence, not only to be more mobile-friendly, but to better represent the changing nature of the international nonprofit sector.
In the next few weeks, we’ll unveil a new website that features more visually compelling content, interactive multimedia, and expert insights from leading voices in our community, including the staff of our member organizations.
A redesigned events section will be populated with meetings and online trainings, allowing members to stay more engaged with fellow colleagues and partners. We also simplified the site’s layout, making it easier to search for blog posts, documents, reports, and will feature daily curated news articles from around the web relevant to international development and humanitarian assistance. All of this is done with the goal of being a resource to those in the sector and continuing to build support for our members’ efforts in the field.
We look forward to making continual changes to the site to highlight and share perspectives on InterAction and our members’ contributions to the humanitarian and international development sectors.
