Carla Montilla
Carla joined InterAction as a Program Associate for the Humanitarian Policy team in December 2024. In her role, Carla helps advance policies that guide humanitarian response. She supports the U.N. Partnership Working Group and InterAction’s Grand Bargain, the only large-scale humanitarian agreement that brings together donors and aid organizations.
Before joining InterAction, Carla worked at the Friends Committee on National Legislation as a program assistant for sustainable energy and environment and at the Center for Strategic and International Studies as a program coordinator for the project on nuclear issues. Carla graduated from American University’s School of International Service with an M.A. in Ethics, Peace, and Human Rights. She wrote her graduate Capstone project on human rights and environmental due diligence in the seafood industry. She also holds degrees in History and Political Science from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
In her free time, Carla enjoys spending time with her cat, watching women’s soccer, and going to the movies.
