Omnia Abdalla
Omnia joined InterAction as a Program Associate for Protection on the Humanitarian Team in August 2023. Her role consists of providing coordination and logistical support for the team’s Results-Based Protection project’s workstreams including the ongoing Action-Based Research on Conflict-Induced Food Insecurity and the dissemination of the Gender-Based Violence Prevention Evaluation Framework (GBV-PEF).
Prior to joining InterAction, Omnia was a Project Management Intern at the Heinrich Boell Foundation - North America. She also worked as a Volunteer Coordinator at the Sudanese Commission of Refugees and as a Content and Data Production Editor at Amna Safe, an advocacy and research NGO based in Khartoum, Sudan that works to end violence against women. Alongside her professional experience, Omnia has been a research fellow with the Institute of African Studies at George Washington University and, most recently, a researcher for the Journal of Adolescent and Adult Literacy at the International Literacy Association. Omnia is fluent in Arabic.
Omnia graduated from George Washington University with a B.A. in International Affairs with a focus on International Development and Africa and a minor in Arabic Studies. In her free time, Omnia loves discovering new music genres from around the world and consuming content on anthropology, gender, Africa, and Islam.
